"I believe in the program and have seen its impact first hand."

"I first got involved with BSA through my son. Seeing the positive impact scouting had on his life through the years, made me want that same experience for my daughter. I was not alone in my vision. Along with handful of other parents, we moved forward in creating the first all-girls BSA troop in Sierra Madre, CA.

Through Scouts BSA,  young people get to experience the outdoors, build friendships, develop confidence, resilience, and courage. I am so proud of the amazing young women in Troop 110g, who are breaking barriers, challenging themselves and participating in this time-tested program that has been proven to build character and leadership."

"Scouting teaches us not to be afraid of challenges and that there is value in serving others."

"As an Eagle Scout, I found scouting transformational in how I approach my life and those around me.   Starting out eager, but unsure, I remember finding pride in learning new skills and slowly gaining the trust of my patrol leader and other boys in my troop. Watching the example of the older scouts taught me my duty as a leader to always lead by my own example and support the growth of those around me.

My adventures from scouting have given me an appreciation of the outdoors and of the diversity of others.  The challenge of earning ranks through boards of review gave me confidence explaining myself in job interviews. The service I performed in Scouts led me to become a Peace Corps volunteer and to choose a career teaching Physics and Computer Programming at Mark Keppel High School. As a father of a daughter and son, signing them both up for Scouts was an obvious choice and it is one of the few activities they both enjoy."
